Lorène Herrero: contemporary ceramics
Holder of a diploma from the Beaux-Arts College of Annecy and from the the Villa Arson in Nice. Lorène works with red, white and black earthenware, that she sometimes mixes together or uses as paper clay. Some part of her work is dedicated to containers such as vases, bowls, plates, pots... which have contemporary shapes. She also crafts sculptures, bas reliefs and installations. At the beginning, prints, drawings and scratches come to life in raw clay. After a first firing, the artists plays with colorful engobes, brushes and sgraffito. Then comes enamelling, that gives a vitreous effect as well as some deepness after the second firing.
